Cookie Policy
Last updated 9 October 2026
This policy lists every cookie and similar technology Scopelyst (scopelyst.com) uses, what each one is for and how long it lasts. Urbanstar Solutions Private Limited is responsible for them.
A cookie is a small file your browser keeps for a site. We also use your browser's local storage, which works the same way but isn't sent with every request.
1. Your choice
When you first visit, signed out, a banner asks whether you accept all cookies or only the essential ones. It stays on screen until you answer and never blocks the page. Essential cookies are set either way; everything else waits for Accept all.
Your answer is kept for a year. If we change how we use cookies we ask again. Choosing Essential only later removes the optional cookies already on your device and stops the tags that set them. Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the footer.
Once you sign in, Google Analytics runs as part of the service with a pseudonymous ID (see the Privacy Policy) and the banner isn't shown.
2. Essential cookies
These keep the site working and secure. They are set whatever you choose.
- sl_consent: remembers your cookie choice. First party, 1 year.
- authjs.session-token: keeps you signed in. First party, up to 30 days.
- authjs.csrf-token and authjs.callback-url: protect sign-in and return you to the page you came from. First party, until you close the browser.
- sl_vid: an anonymous ID so a view of a company profile, project or staffing listing is counted once per visitor per day. First party, 1 year. Not used for advertising.
- __cf_bm and similar: set by Cloudflare, which hosts the site, to tell browsers from bots. Up to 30 minutes.
- theme: your light or dark choice, in local storage until you change it.
3. Our own site analytics
We count page views in our own database so we can see which pages are read and how visitors find us, without a third party. This works without cookies: a signed-out visitor is told apart by an id that lives only in the open tab and disappears when it closes. The IP address is never stored.
- sl_visitor: with Accept all only, a random returning-visitor id in local storage, so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one. Kept until you choose Essential only or clear your browser.
4. Only with Accept all
Google Analytics measures how the site is used. It is loaded only after Accept all.
- _ga: tells returning visitors apart. Set by Google, 2 years.
- _ga_<id>: keeps the current session state. Set by Google, 2 years.
- _gid and _gat: short-lived Google Analytics cookies on some configurations, 24 hours and 1 minute.
Retargeting tags remember that you visited so our adverts can reach you on other sites. Each loads only while we run a campaign with that network, only after Accept all, and only when its identifier is configured on the site.
- Google Ads: _gcl_au (3 months) and, through the Google tag, _gcl_aw and related cookies (3 months).
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram): _fbp (3 months) and _fbc (3 months) set by the Meta Pixel.
- LinkedIn Insight: li_fat_id (30 days), lidc (24 hours), bcookie (1 year) and related cookies set by LinkedIn.
Choosing Essential only removes these cookies from this site and tells each tag to stop. You can also block them in your browser, or use Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
